Janet Bruesselbach is an oil painter with science-fictional illustration influences, and a focus on inventive figuration. She earned a MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2009 and has since done independent projects highlighting the personality of subjects, including Teleportraiture, Daughters of Mercury, and Beloved Monsters, as well as smaller series that become limited edition booklets like Paleofacture. A portrait commission is the outcome of a conversational sitting experience.
