Kristina Rose Baker was born and raised in Orange County, California. From her studio in Costa Mesa she creates oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, and prints. Her interest in ecology permeates into the subject matter of her paintings. She investigates the paradox of absence and presence as understood through the natural processes of growth, decomposition, and regeneration in nature. She is the recipient of the Florence Lief Fellowship, Gamblin Paint Award, Anderson Ranch Brooks Fellowship, and is a Yale/Norfolk Fellowship Nominee.
