Lisa Houck works with color and pattern to create complex, imaginative landscapes. Her art practice is inspired by the natural world, and incorporates concepts from astronomy, archeology and biology. She has worked in printmaking, ceramics, watercolor and oil on wood for over thirty years. Recently Lisa has begun a series of large-scale linoleum block prints inspired by the works of Audubon and Hokusai. These prints are all related by the celestial imagery in the background and the improbable birds that occupy the space.
