Mishcat Co aims at changing the way people perceive sustainable luxury in the global design world, by up cycling leftover sari scraps into captivating one-of-a-kind carpets; and then curating a unique spatial narrative around each carpet. Along with its in-house design team, Mishcat Co encourages and empowers independent artisans to experiment with pattern and design, creating a strong interwoven bond of process and execution. Clients can avail a complimentary consultancy to curate their space using the carpet as a pivotal starting point. Thus, by seamlessly nurturing everything internally- from the pattern development and weaving process, to the hand knotted carpets and finished interior space they reside in- Mishcat Co aims at being a unique one-stop-shop design house.

Core to the Mishcat design philosophy is the use of waste sari yarn. Left over yarn is collected from sari weavers in the south. This is then sorted into color families, and hand woven into spools of complimenting colours- which are then used in the hand knotting process. As the sari yarn available is different each time, the resulting carpet is unique and different each time.
