Tim’s work as a painter is influenced by his work as a landscape designer, that is, he is often in search of order where there is chaos. With a little sense of where he’ll end up, Tim applies and scrapes paint to and from a surface. He explore multiple ideas looking for structure in muddled layers of paint. Eventually, something concrete and worth developing materializes as unexpected compositions evolve in to a cohesive idea. This process of exploration is revealed as traces of prior iterations remain as part of his finished work.
