Zoa Chimerum Jewelry is created by working with electrical insulation and forged aluminum wire to produce jewelry in rhythmic, flowing patterns of soft rubber plumes. Each curl, spine, or rubber segment is individually hand-cut and layered onto an aluminum armature. The designs start as forged wire “sketches” which gradually come to life as layers of rubber accumulate in an incremental, intuitive process which mimics the growth patterns of living organisms. By inhabiting this growth process, designs are generated emergently from the inside out.
